Waterstone Design Building Services Consultants Ltd were incorporated in July 2004 and have been growing and developing with new technologies as they become available, ensuring that we are able to implement these within the developments that we are involved with:
Development Sectors
We have a vast range of experience with large, medium and small residential developments including large individual high specification dwellings, mixed use developments, sure start centres, retail units, commercial office spaces including both CAT A and CAT B fit outs, care homes and NHS sites. We also have experience with the design of hotels, student accommodation and exclusive CIP airport lounges, on both air and passenger sides.
CAD and 3D REVIT
We are able to offer drawings in both 2D AutoCAD and 3D Revit, which enables us to fully co-ordinate our services with the design team, and accurately space plan plant rooms, risers, and cupboards, and ensure early clash detection.
Sustainability Department
We have developed a Sustainability Department in line with recent changes to Regulations, and are able to provide a fully encompassing service to include the full Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health Design, together with the following additional services.
Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP)
To this end we have invested in our staff and assisted them in completing the necessary training and qualifications in becoming On Construction Domestic Energy Assessors, able to carry out SAP calculations and Energy Performance Certificates. This gives us in-house expertise when assessing upcoming projects and allows us to give valuable input into construction methods, required building principles, and materials selection.
Sustainability Through Sensible Design
In recent years increasing, pressure has been placed on developers and the supporting design team to produce more eco-friendly and sustainable projects, in line with Local and National policies and frameworks. This in turn has led to a rise in capital costs and a greater need for efficient “right first time” designs from all team members.
Waterstone Design strongly believe that good advice on services related sustainability issues during the early stages of a project can lead to a far more efficient development with reduced build costs.
All too often Waterstone Design has been appointed to a contract which is past the initial design stage and already has a services plan requirement in place. A brief review highlights that scant regard has been paid as to how the recommended environmental systems are to be implemented and distributed across the scheme.
Sustainability Planning and Feasibility
Waterstone Design are fully qualified to deliver effective, bespoke energy and sustainability reports, in support of planning applications, both pre and post decision stage, using a vast knowledge of local and national planning policies and frameworks.

Simplified Building Energy Model (SBEM)
In addition to SAP Waterstone Design are pleased to offer the ability to produce SBEM calculations enabling commercial properties to be afforded the same level of attention to detail as domestic properties at the design conception stage and throughout.
Code for Sustainability Homes
We are able to provide Code for Sustainable Homes Assessments. This allows us to offer a single service which encompasses all elements of sustainability and delivers recommendations which can actually be implemented during the latter stages of the project; a quality which we believe is all too rare in our industry.
