In an attempt to reduce the impact of the build environment upon climate change, Local Authorities now frequently require that an Energy and Sustainability Statement are submitted as part of planning applications.

Energy Strategies are required to demonstrate how carbon emissions of the proposed development will be reduced beyond the minimum requirements  of the Building Regulations. In some instances it is also required that carbon reduction is improved further by the installation of low and zero carbon renewable technologies.

In addition to the above Sustainability Statements look at the wider impact of a proposed development, and aims to set out how this impact will be managed. Areas investigated include but not limited to, materials selection, minimising waste both during construction and in occupation and bio-diversity

Waterstone Design have may years experience in successfully securing planning approval for developments of all sizes, providing both Energy and Sustainability Statements to the meet the latest requirements of Local Planning Authorities and The London Plan.
