Mixed Use Case Study
Waterstone Design are appointed by Barratt London for this development which consists of 253 residential units spread over 2 blocks ranging from 7 to 26 storeys, together with 1,700 square meters of commercial space.
Our scope of works include statutory authority liaison and full mechanical and electrical design drawn in Revit in accordance with ISO 19650 and Cobie requirements.
The site is being designed with an air source heat pump (ASHP) lead energy strategy, with backup gas boilers, serving to reduce the carbon emissions. In line with the new Part L, the space heating within the flats is being designed with a 55 oC flow and 40 oC return to radiators, which has allowed district heating temperatures to be reduced to a 60oC flow and 40 oC return. This will help with reducing heat loss from the distribution pipework as well as combating the overheating of corridors which is a constant problem with centralised plant schemes.
